WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION

This workshop has the following two learning objectives:

EXAGGERATED SLIP STITCHES (with cowl) (3 hrs)
This class is part demonstration with an AV presentation about a special kind of 3D knitwear in hand knitting, and all inspiration processes. Olga presents her 3D design philosophy, to reveal a slightly different angle of knitwear and putting your existing knitting skills into a novel path. All while creating 3D textured accessories using a special Slip Stitch technique. Students will learn not just how to make it, but also how to adapt it, combine and shape it to their liking. During this class students will learn how to make either LOLO COWL or SEI COWL or any Exaggerated Slip Stitch pattern of their choice in confi dence using this technique with an opportunity to explore numerous others designed using this method!

knowing how to knit, purl, cast on, bind off

Working slip stitch patterns in charts and written instruction
Mirrored increasing
Customize fi nished accessory to taste
Specifics on benefits and drawbacks of this unique stitch pattern and the technique

SLIP STITCH COLORWORK (3 hrs)
Introduce yourself to a world of colorwork with Slip Stitch Method! The particular method developed by Olga will take you through the technique full of tips and tricks to ease your way into it. You will become the master of the tension and will be able to manipulate your fabric regardless of your yarn choices to achieve the most consistent and perfect results! We will work on several swatches in different stitch patterns using this technique. Or you can also start to work on Winter Suns Shawl.

Knit, purl, cast on, bind off

Slip Stitch Colorwork basics
Picking correct yarns and textures for working colorwork
Special method for trapping long fl oats in colorwork for maintaining perfect tension
Reading slip stitch colorwork chart and building your own

MATERIALS

Bring the following materials:

EXAGGERAGED SLIPPED STITCHES (with cowl)
For swatching: US 5 (3.75 mm), US 6 (4 mm), US 7 (4.5 mm) needles
If you choose to cast-on a project please purchse a copy of LOLO cowl pattern or of SEI cowl pattern and bring to class.
Homework for both: Cast on for the cowl of your choice and work 4 rounds of pattern. 5

For Swatching: US 3 (3.25 mm), US 4 (3.5 mm), US 5 (3.75 mm) needles
If you wish to work the Winter Suns Shawl the pattern should be purchased and brought to class
